Get ready for the Oil & Gas TechWeek 2018, the largest event on technology for the Oil and Gas industry to be held in Brazil. The second edition of the conference will take place from September 24th to 27th, alongside Rio Oil & Gas 2018, in Rio de Janeiro, and will showcase the latest technological innovation around the world.

The Oil & Gas TechWeek 2018 will unveil the megatrends that will pave the segment´s future, as well as discuss the greatest technologies and innovation that will reset our industry.

During the 4 days of the event, we will address the perspectives of the market new technologies.

• Which are the effects and expectations of its applications?

There will be discussions about hot topics for the industry, such as the Internet of Things, Big Data, Analytics, Nanotechnology, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Cyber Security, Drones and more.

Oil & Gas TechWekk 2018, to be held alongside Rio Oil & Gas, reedits the concept launched in 2016, when, in addition to having an exhibition area, the participants also indicates a specialist to give a presentation in the central arena.

Jorge Otávio Trierweiler

Prof. Dr. Jorge Otávio Trierweiler is a full professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. He is graduated in chemical engineer in 1988 at UFRGS, with M.Sc. Degree obtained at PEQ/COPPE/UFRJ (Brazil) in 1991 and Dr.-Ing. at Dortmund University (Germany) in 1996 both in chemical engineering in process control and optimization. In 2001 he held a postdoctoral internship in biosensors at Leibniz University Hannover (Germany) and in 2008, in biorefineries and bioprocesses control at University RWTH Aachen (Germany). Additionally, in 2005 he completed an MBA in business management at UFRGS. Since 1997, he is the Head of the research group called GIMSCOP (Group of Intensification, Modeling, Simulation, Control, and Optimization of Processes) at UFRGS. He has supervised more than 50 M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses and has more than 170 articles published in scientific journals, events, and international conferences (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Jorge_Trierweiler/contributions). In the past, with some of his former students, he also founded the spin-off company TriSolutions (http://www.trisolutions.com.br) that offers services and software for process modeling, optimization, and advanced control. Since its foundation in 2001, the company has successfully acted as a bridge between industry and the university. In 2010, as result of his outstanding contributions to education and training in the science, engineering, and technology of instrumentation, systems, and automation, he received the “Donald P. At Petrobras became Petroleum Engineer specialized in offshore wells, working as Drilling Program Engineer at International Business Area and Santos Basin Operations. Later, Borella was Drilling Consultant for pre-salt wells (2011-2012), R&D Manager for Well Construction (2013-2016) and the Technical Competencies Manager for Wells and Rigs (2016-2018). Additionally, he was professor (2009-2010) and course coordinator (2011-2012) of Petroleum Engineer Course at Santos Catholic University. He holds now the position of General Manager for Digital Transformation in Petrobras.

Luís Felipe joined Schneider Electric in 2000, as regional sales manager in Rio de Janeiro. Two years later, worked as Strategic Account for Oil&Gas and Petrochemicals in Brazil. In 2005, moved to São Paulo to lead the national strategic accounts sales team. Two years later, he was nominated sales director in the Global Oil&Gas Team created in France. For 3 years lived and worked in France in the Oil&Gas leadership team, leading international projects and global strategic accounts team. Back to Brazil in 2010, assumed the vice presidency of Energy Business Unit for the integration 800 employees in the acquisition of Areva D and creation of this new business unit. In 2014, back to the global Oil&Gas and Petrochemical leadership team, assumed as vice president of South America Oil&Gas and Petrochemicals business. In 2018 Caribbean is integrated to the business coverage.
